Adolescence is a time of disorientation and discovery. For many adolescents, life is rife with physiological as well as psychological changes. Teenagers often struggle with mood swings, hormones, stress and the uncertainty that comes along with constant change. It is in this period that teenagers are most vulnerable to others’ opinions, to rejection, to peer pressure, etc.
According to a study by the University of Washington, seven of ten adolescent girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school, and relationships with friends and family members. However, adolescence can and should be an exciting period of life where we learn and grow and discover much about ourselves.
It was with this in mind that we at QnQ decided to create Miss Teen India, a beauty pageant for girls aged 13 to 18 years. Our desire is to instill the importance of self-worth in the minds of young girls and encourage them to discover themselves, as they learn new skills and talents.
We also believe in making our contestants more socially aware. Contestants are encouraged to do volunteer work and raise funds. They are exposed to different communities, some of which have suffered calamities or are economically challenged. They’re compelled to look outside their comfort zone and see the challenges faced by sections of society that are different from their own. This helps them grow into compassionate and caring human beings. Moreover, with the confidence they gain from participating in a competition like Miss Teen India, the contestants will learn to overcome difficulties and express themselves with conviction and clarity.
So, come! Join us at Miss Teen India, and watch yourself as you transform!
